![]() I also have been searching discussions in this community and have found several threads dealing with a similar problem. I have submitted a support request to VMware (SR #1104193523) and I'm on my 4th round of email exchanges with suggestions from tech support trying to get Fusion to detect bootable files. However, I'm having a problem similar to other users in this forum in that I haven't been able to create a windows 98 virtual machine in Fusion. I would install Windows 98 as a virtual machine in the new Imac to run these applications and life would be good. Based upon users reviews in the Apple Store website along with postings I found other user forums I decided that VMware Fusion sounded the most usable. ![]() Specifically, the Windows apps I would be using are Office 97 Professional suite (we really only use Word, Excel, and Access) and Quickbooks 2004 (which is 98/ME/2000/XP compatible). One of the factors in deciding to switch from a PC to an Imac was that there were several ways to run Windows applications in OS X. I am upgrading from a Dell XPS D233 which is still running 98se. I am a new owner of an 20" Imac model 7,1 (OS X 10.5.2), 1 GB ram, 2.0 Ghz hard drive.
